Vijayawada Workshop on “Disability Inclusion in Churches”

A workshop on “Disability Inclusion in Churches” was held at Mylavaram, Vijayawada on 7 August 2013 drawing together about 70 pastors to orient then on the biblical theological perspective on disability, basic disability etiquette, and an overview on the Disability Act. The pastors took part enthusiastically and also came up with their own plan of action to take this forward practically in their spheres of work.

This initiative was put together by the Engage Disability Hub in Hyderabad and Prof. Rajashekar, the Hub Coordinator, Br Moorthy, Sis. Jessica Esther and her family who were instrumental in both organising and leading this workshop. Jessica Richard National Coordinator, and Eunice Rajamathi Manoj Training Facilitator, from the ED National team, also facilitated some of the sessions during the workshop.

We are thankful for the hospitality of Pastor Mani Rao of the Messiah Church Mylavaram, his family and the team from his church who organised all the logistics for a fruitful workshop.
